Senior Claims Adjuster, Property – Quebec

Your role
Reporting to the Claims Manager, the Claims Adjuster investigates, evaluates and settles commercial and personal property claims.

What you bring to the position

  • Bilingual required (French/English)
  • Minimum 5 years of claims adjusting experience (property)
  • AMF permit for commercial and personal lines
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical and investigative skills
  • Strong time management, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage changing priorities

What you will do

  • Collect and analyze claims information through investigation
  • Evaluate coverages, exclusions and liability of various property policies
  • Maintain timely and accurate records throughout claim handling
  • Maintain timely and accurate claim reserves
  • Negotiate settlement (or denial)
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with both claims vendors and clients
  • Provide exceptional service
  • Provide timely reports and file presentations to Claims Manager
  • Produce analysis related to underwriting risks
  • Work both independently and as part of the claims team
  • Contribute to the development of the claims team
  • Share knowledge and experience with fellow Adjusters
  • Participate in claims department projects and ad hoc tasks
