Claims Adjuster Property – Maritimes

Your role

Reporting to the Claims Manager, the Claims Adjuster investigates, evaluates and settles commercial and personal property claims.

What you bring to the position

  • Bilingual required (French/English)
  • Minimum 2 years of claims adjusting experience (property)
  • CIP designation or working towards same to meet licensing requirements
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical and investigative skills
  • Strong time management, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage changing priorities

What you will do

  • Collect and analyze claims information through investigation
  • Evaluate coverages, exclusions and liability of various property policies
  • Maintain timely and accurate records throughout claim handling
  • Maintain timely and accurate claim reserves
  • Negotiate settlement (or denial)
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with both claims vendors and clients
  • Provide exceptional service
  • Provide timely reports and file presentations to Claims Supervisor
  • Work closely with Underwriting Department on risk assessment
  • Work both independently and as part of the Claims Team
